South Carolina: Graham asks if Flynn was “directed.” US Sen. Lindsey Graham (R), concerned about General Michael Flynn’s pre-inaugural phone conversation with the Russian ambassador, told CNN’s Kate Bolduan, “I want to know, did General Flynn do this by himself or was he directed by somebody to do it?” He added, “Congress needs to be informed of what actually General Flynn said.” ……. Mississippi: Thompson calls for independent investigation. US Rep. Bennie Thompson (D), the ranking Democrat on the House Homeland Security Committee, told USA Today, “Now more than ever, we need an independent commission to fully investigate Russia’s interference with the election and any potential Trump campaign ties to the Kremlin.” …….  Alabama: Sewell says write Trump. US Rep. Terri Sewell (D) is leading a campaign urging people to write a letter to President Trump calling for an investigation of voter suppression. Sewell cited the closing of drivers’ licenses offices in Alabama as an example of violating voting rights. She said, “Voting rights are as relevant today as they were 51 years ago,” reported AL.com …….
