Georgia: Ossoff, Handel lead in latest poll. Maintaining the same places in the 18-candidate field as they have had since early on, Jon Ossoff (D) had 42%, former Secretary of State Karen Handel (R) 21%, followed by 11% each for Judson Hill and Bob Gray, and 9% for Dan Moody, says the latest poll by Opinion Savvy/Fox 5 Atlanta. The election is tomorrow, April 18, with a runoff on June 20 if no candidate receives a majority ……. Arkansas: Judge halts executions. A federal judge halted the state’s execution of seven death-row inmates this month. The judge’s ruling was based on a challenge to the state’s use of a lethal injection in executions. Previously, the Arkansas Supreme Court had already stopped the execution of one of the inmates. The state Attorney General’s office called the decision “unfortunate,” reports the Democrat-Gazette ……. Florida: Morgan leads gubernatorial poll. A survey of Democrats by Orlando Political Observer/Gravis Marketing found that among potential 2018 candidates for governor, trial lawyer John Morgan’s favorability rating topped the list, with 14%, followed by 14% for Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum and 11% for Gwen Graham, reports the Tampa Bay Times …….
