Alabama: Sessions denounces “appalling and detestable lie.” US Attorney General – and former US Senator from Alabama – Jeff Sessions testified before the Senate Intelligence Committee yesterday that “I have never met with or had any conversation with any Russians or any foreign officials concerning any type of interference with any campaign or election in the United States.” He added, reports Reuters, “I have no knowledge of any such conversations by anyone connected with the Trump campaign.” ……. Georgia: Gingrich slams Mueller. Amidst rumors that President Trump is considering firing Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller, Trump confidant and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-GA) said on Fox News, “Look at who Mueller’s starting to hire, I mean these are people that, frankly, look to me like they’re setting up to go after Trump.” ……. Texas: Brady cites Obamacare problems. House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Kevin Brady (R-TX) said on Fox News, “Obamacare is imploding, and we’re just seeing prices skyrocket and insurers flee the markets.” Major insurance companies across the nation are either withdrawing from important markets or hiking their rates, reports The Hill. In North Carolina, for example, Blue Cross-Blue Shield, the state’s largest insurer, has requested a 23% rate increase for next year. …….
