South Carolina: Graham, McCain issue joint statement on Syria. “We commend President Obama for ordering last night’s air strikes against ISIS … We especially salute our Arab partners for their historic and valuable involvement,” US Sens. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and John McCain (R-AZ) said in a joint statement. The two Republican hawks added, “This will be a long, difficult campaign, and as ISIS regroups and adapts, we and our partners will ultimately need a limited presence of troops on the ground… to advise local forces, direct air strikes, gather intelligence, and conduct special forces operations…”

 

Oklahoma: Fallin, Dorman air TV spots. Gov. Mary Fallin (R) and her challenger, state Rep. Joe Dorman (D), have released TV spots. Dorman hit Fallin for her early support for Common Core education standards while Fallin cited her record “pushing back” against the federal government and her performance in the wake of the tornado that devastated Moore, OK, reports KJRH TV news. Fallin remains the favorite.

 

Louisiana: McAllister airs new ad. US Rep. Vance McAllister (R), who almost didn’t seek reelection after a video surfaced showing him kissing one of his female staffers, has a new TV spot in which his wife, Kelly McAllister, says, “I’m blessed to have a husband that owns up to his mistakes, never gives up, always fighting for the good people of Louisiana.” McAllister, a conservative Republican, faces nine challengers in this fall’s election.
