Louisiana: Early voting favors Cassidy. Voting statistics released show that the number of Republicans who voted early increased by 3% over their number in the Nov. 4 “jungle primary.” Meanwhile, the number of Democrats decreased – by 18% – and the number of African-Americans voting early also decreased. Baton Rouge pollster Bernie Pinsonat, quoted in The Hill, said “If you’re looking for some layer of hope [for Landrieu], there’s nothing out there.”  The runoff is this Saturday, Dec. 6..…..Kentucky: US Sen. Rand Paul (R) announced Tuesday that he will seek reelection next year, but one of his top aides says a presidential announcement is “months” away, probably in the spring, reports The Hill. Paul may seek renomination by a state convention, to circumvent Kentucky law about a name appearing on the ballot twice in the same election…….Florida: Bush will stay center right. Former Gov. Jeb Bush (R) told a Washington audience of CEOs that he will stick with his less-than-hard-right views on immigration and Common Core education standards, should he seek the presidency, reports The Hill. He said the GOP’s contenders have to ready to “lose the primary to win the general.”
