Florida: Rubio, Bush lead Clinton. A Mason-Dixon poll taken in mid-April shows that in head-to-head matchups, two Sunshine State Republicans have significant margins over Hillary Clinton, the leading Democratic candidate, in Florida. US Sen. Marco Rubio led Clinton 49% to 43% and former Gov. Jeb Bush led her 47% to 43%. Both GOPers ran well with independent voters, pollster Brad Coker said in a statement ……. North Carolina: Burr leads Democrats. In an early April survey taken by Public Policy Polling (D), US Sen. Richard Burr (R) led six potential Democratic opponents, ahead of state Sen. Jeff Jackson by 16 points, state Rep. Grier Martin by 14 points, former US Sen. Kay Hagan by 12 points, and state Senate Democratic Leader Dan Blue, state Treasurer Janet Cowell and former US Rep. Brad Miller by 11 points each. The pollster notes that other than Hagan, the contenders have low name ID ……. Virginia: McAuliffe woos Redskins. Gov. Terry McAuliffe (D) is trying to persuade the Washington Redskins to build their new stadium in Virginia, telling the Washington Post, “We have 66% of the season-ticket holders in Virginia. Every player lives in Virginia.” Stay tuned
