Trade: Six Southerners hold key to fast-track deal. Six of the ten members of the US House who are the swing-votes on legislation giving President Obama the authority to conduct a trade agreement with Pacific nations are from the South, reports The Hill. The three undecided Democrats are Terri Sewell (AL), Beto O’Rourke (TX) and Joaquin Castro (TX); the three undecided GOPers are Mark Meadows (NC), Kay Granger (TX) and Robert Aderholt (AL). An unusual coalition of labor unions and conservatives are opposed to the measure ……. Florida: Rubio gaining on Bush. In March, according to a presidential preference poll by St. Leo University, Jeb Bush led Marco Rubio among Republicans by 31% to 16%. By late May, however, Rubio had gained 8 points, trailing Bush by 30% to 2f4%, says the latest St. Leo poll …… Virginia: Howell, McPike win primaries. In the hotly contested Republican primary in House of Delegates District 28 (Fredericksburg, etc.), House Speaker William Howell defeated Tea Party challenger Susan Stimpson, a former county supervisor, by 62% to 38%. In the three-way race in the  Democratic Primary in the open state Senate 29th District (Manassas, etc.), Jeremy McPike, director of general services in Alexandria, won with 43%; he will face Manassas City Councilman Ian Lovejoy in November in this highly competitive district …….
