North Carolina: Meadows wants to oust Boehner. US Rep. Mark Meadows (R) has introduced a resolution calling for the ouster of John Boehner (R-IL) from the House speakership. Meadows, one of 25 GOPers who voted against Boehner for speaker in January, lost his subcommittee chairmanship after voting against a trade package procedural issue favored by Boehner, but was later reinstated. Meadows’ resolution is unlikely to make it out of committee ……. Arkansas: Huckabee courts black voters. Mike Huckabee, once president of the Arkansas Baptist State Convention, used his sermon-giving skills at two predominantly African-American churches in South Carolina. Preaching to congregations in Manning and Rock Hill, Huckabee – who got 48% of the black vote in his 1998 gubernatorial race – stressed the biblical values shared by blacks and religious whites ……. Florida: Southerland not running for House. Former US Rep.
