South Carolina: Haley orders security at National Guard facilities. Gov. Nikki Haley (R) has ordered that the state’s 70 armories and related facilities to be protected by armed guards, after a review of security issues following the massacre of five service members in Tennessee last month. The order allows the Guard to activate guard members for the duty; the State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) will train the guardsmen ……. Alabama: Trump, Kasich score. Donald Trump scored big time in Alabama, and probably elsewhere as well, when he worked with US Sen. Jeff Sessions (R) on his immigration policies. Although Sessions has not endorsed Trump, the Alabama senator’s immigration views are very popular in the state. But Ohio Gov. John Kasich (R) also got a boost here last week when he was endorsed by Gov. Robert Bentley (R) ……. Tennessee: Corker says Iran deal hurts US. In a prime-space op-ed in the Washington Post, Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Bob Corker (R) argued that “Rather than end Iran’s nuclear enrichment program, over time this deal industrializes the program of the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism.” …….
