Around the South for September 10th: TX, TN, & SC

Texas – Perry felony case moves forward: The Texas Court of Criminal Appeals’ will determine the next step in former Governor and 2016 Presidential hopeful Rick Perry’s case involving alleged misuse of power.  The charges center around a 2013 scandal in which Perry threatened to withhold government funds unless an opposing official resigned.  Perry followed through on his threat, and in the next two weeks the court will decide whether or not to proceed with the case…  Tennessee – Fox, Barry square off in Nashville Mayoral race: Republican David Fox and Democrat Megan Barry will finish their bruising race for Mayor on Thursday, finalizing a race that should come down to the wire.  Personal attacks have been flying in recent weeks as the runoff reaches the home stretch….  South Carolina –  Trump, Carson lead in GOP Primary: Donald Trump leads big in South Carolina, according to recent GOP Primary polling, not a surprise if you’ve followed similar polls from surrounding states.  Carson continues his surge as he sits comfortably in second.  Perhaps more of a surprise are local Senator Lindsay Graham’s numbers: nearly 4 out of 5 South Carolina residents think the ‘favorite son’ should drop out of the race.
