Georgia: Perdue hits Democrats on defense appropriations. US Sen. David Perdue (R) attacked Senate Democrats for blocking the 2016 defense appropriations bill, contending that they “have done our nation a great disservice,” by failing to bring up the bill. GOPers want to keep caps on all spending except defense, while Democrats want to lift the caps on defense and non-defense spending ……. North Carolina: Rey announces against Burr. Chris Rey, 38, the mayor of Spring Lake, announced his candidacy as a Democrat to challenge US Sen. Richard Burr (R) next year. A recent Public Policy Polling (D) survey in August showed Rey, an African American, with 37% to Burr’s 44% ……. Florida: Trump, Rubio & Clinton take the lead. A survey by Florida Atlantic University shows Donald Trump with 32% of the state’s GOPers, followed by Marco Rubio with 19%, Jeb Bush 11% and Ben Carson with 10%. On the Democratic side, Hillary Clinton led with 60%, followed by 16% for Joe Biden and 15% for Bernie Sanders. In General Election matchups, Clinton trailed most Republican contenders by small to significant margins …….
