North Carolina: McCrory launches bond campaign. Gov. Pat McCrory (R) kicked off a campaign to persuade the state’s voters to back a $2 billion bond proposal that will be on the March 15 ballot. The proceeds would go for repairing and updating facilities in education, agriculture, parks and sewer, says Raleigh’s News & Observer ……. Florida: Crist running for Congress. For governor Charlie Crist (D) announced this week that he will run for the congressional seat being vacated by US Rep. David Jolly (R), who is running for the US Senate. The Tampa Bay area seat is expected to become more Democratic when Florida’s congressional redistricting is completed ……. OK/VA: Lawmakers warn administration on Syrian refugees. US Sen. James Lankford (R-OK) and US Rep. Randy Forbes (R-VA) sent a letter to Secretary of State John Kerry and Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson warning that “groups like ISIS will infiltrate refugee camps and try to seek admittance into the United States.” They advocated “rigorous background checks and security measures,” reports The Hill …….
