Florida: Scott proposes tax cut. Last week, Gov. Rick Scott (R) advocated a tax cut of $1 billion, mostly for manufacturers, reports Sunshine State News. “By eliminating the tax on business income for Florida manufacturers – big and small, and all Floridaretailers, which include many small businesses all across the state, we are putting job creators on the road to success for years to come,” Scott said ……. North Carolina:Carson, Clinton lead. The latest Elon University presidential preference poll shows that among Republicans, Ben Carson has 31%, Donald Trump 19%, Marco Rubio 10%, Ted Cruz 10% and Jeb Bush 5%, with the rest in smaller single digits. On the Democratic side, Hillary Clinton had 57%, Bernie Sanders 24% and Martin O’Malley 3% …….Louisiana: Jindal targets Iowa. Long-shot presidential candidate Gov. Bobby Jindal (R) is putting all his eggs in the Hawkeye State basket, reports The Hill. In the last 70 days, Jindal has held 122 events in Iowa, more than any other candidate in either party.
