Alabama: Shelby would revise Dodd-Frank. In an op-ed in Al.com, US Sen. Richard Shelby (R) promoted his “Financial Regulatory Improvement Act,” which has now passed the Senate Banking committee which he chairs. “Since its enactment, the negative impacts of Dodd-Frank on our regulatory structure, our financial system, and our economy have become clear. It is now time to fix what is broken,” said Shelby ……. Florida: Nelson wants tighter airport security. US Sen. Bill Nelson (D) has introduced a bill that would improve background checks on airport employees by allowing the TSA to screen them through intelligence and FBI data bases. Nelson has also signed on to US Sen. Jeff Sessions’ (R-AL) bill to reduce the number of visas granted to foreign high skilled workers ……. South Carolina: Scott holds last town hall. US Sen. Tim Scott (R) has hosted a series of “Tim’s Town Halls” across the Palmetto State to introduce the Republican presidential candidates to the state’s voters.
