South Carolina: Haley blasts Trump again. If there was ever a chance that Gov. Nikki Haley (R) would lighten up on Donald Trump in hopes of snagging a vice-presidential spot, you can forget it. In Tampa on Saturday, reports WTSP.TV, Haley bashed Trump “for what’s happening at the rallies.” She added, “What I see in Marco Rubio is that he brings out the best in people, but what I see in Donald Trump is that he brings out the worst in people.” ……. Florida: School choice legislation passes legislature. A measure that would change the way public funds are used for construction and maintenance ofFlorida’s 650 charter schools has now passed both chambers of the legislature. The legislation now goes to Gov. Rick Scott (R) for his signature, reports the Miami Herald. The measure contains a formula that favors charter schools that serve impoverished students and those with disabilities ……. Oklahoma: Fallin announces emergency funding for schools, prisons. Gov. Mary Fallin and state legislative leaders have agreed to provide $51 million to the Department of Education and $27.5 million to the Department of Corrections, reports KFOR.TV. The funds, taken from the “rainy day” fund, will prevent “four-day school weeks and draconian cuts to corrections,” Fallin said …….
