South Carolina: Graham makes nice with old foe. Only weeks after US Sen. Lindsey Graham (R) declared – presumably in jest – that if the trial were in the Senate, the august chamber would not convict an assassin of US Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), Graham hosted a fundraiser for the Texan, reported The Hill. Said Cruz, in appreciation, “My colleague Lindsey Graham very kindly hosted an event for me here, which should allay any doubts anyone might have that the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob can still do miracles.” Amen …….

North Carolina: McCrory signs anti-gay bill. Only hours after the legislature passed legislation that would void Charlotte’s non-discrimination ordinance that protected transgender access to public restrooms and prevent passage of other local pro-LGBT laws, Gov. Pat McCrory (R), up for reelection this year, signed the measure into law …….

Alabama: Bentley sorry for comments. Gov. Robert Bentley (R) held a press conference in which he apologized to his constituents for texting sexual remarks to a longtime female staffer. He insisted, however, that he did not have physical contact with said staffer …….
