North Carolina: McCrory signs new LGBT order. Under intense pressure from businesses and rock stars from across the nation, Gov. Pat McCrory (R) signed Executive Order 93, which, among other provisions, affirms businesses’ right to establish their own restroom policies and local governments’ and private sectors’ right to establish non-discrimination policies, reports WCNC-TV. The governor is also asking the legislature to reinstate the right to sue in state court for discrimination. …….

Alabama: Sessions addresses visa expirations. US Sen. Jeff Sessions (R), chairman of the Senate Subcommittee on Immigration and the National Interest and a leading backer of Donald Trump, has filed an amendment to the Federal Aviation Administration Reauthorization that would support a biometric computer network at US airports to track whether foreign visitors to the country have left before expiration of their visas. Federal data, says a Sessions release, estimates some 500,000 foreigners over-stayed their visas in 2015 alone …….

Georgia: Gingrich endorses commercial space industry. When he ran for president, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R) advocated building an American colony on the moon. He was ridiculed at the time, but recently wrote a letter of support to state Rep. Jason Spencer’s (R) bill that would facilitate construction of a spaceport in Georgia, reports the Journal-Constitution. The bill didn’t pass, but Stay tuned!!!
