Florida: Brown, Graham announce plans. US Rep. Corrine Brown (D) said this week that she will seek reelection this year, despite losing her lawsuit contending that her redrawn district violated the Voting Rights Act. However, US Rep. Gwen Graham (D), whose district was also affected by the decision, said she will not seek reelection, but is looking forward to a bid for governor in 2018 …….

Alabama: Sewell co-hosting vote suppression briefing. US Rep. Terri Sewell (D) said in a statement, “We cannot accept the refusal of the Republican Party to vote in favor of the Voting Rights Advancement Act of 2015,” adding, “I am ecstatic to join all my Congressional colleagues and stakeholder groups in taking on the fight” for the democratic process …….




Texas: Cruz has money, will travel.  Ted Cruz’s campaign revealed this week that he has $9 million cash-on-hand to continue financing his presidential bid. “We are funded, we are vigorous, and we are taking on every state,” Cruz campaign manager Jeff Roe said, reports The Hill …….
