North Carolina: Sessions speaks to GOP. US Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL), a key ally of Donald Trump, addressed a luncheon of Republican officials and activists yesterday at the party’s state convention in Greensboro. Noting that Sessions endorsed Trump in February and has been a surrogate speaker for The Donald’s campaign, the state party’s news release touted Session’s focus on military strength, a limited role for government, and lower taxes to stimulate economic growth ……. Florida: Buchanan says Bush GOP is dead. Writing for Sunshine State News, prominent conservative commentator Pat Buchanan said, “Trump’s triumph is a sweeping repudiation of Bush Republicanism by the same party that nominated them four times for the presidency.” Buchanan went on to attack the two Bush presidents for failing “to secure American’s borders.” He also attacked George W. Bush for the war in Iraq ……. Alabama: Moore suspended from high court. A state commission on Friday suspended state Supreme Court Justice Roy Moore, contending he “flagrantly disregarded and abused his authority” by instructing state judges to ignore the US Supreme Court ruling in favor of same-sex marriage. A state Court of the Judiciary will decide if Moore is guilty of the charges …….
