Tennessee: Corker praises naval exercise. “[P]assage of a U.S. Navy destroyer near Fiery Cross Reef is an important step in U.S. efforts to defend freedom of navigation in the South China Sea,” US Sen. Bob Corker (R), chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, said Tuesday in a statement. He added that the exercises “should be part of routine U.S. patrols to challenge unlawful territorial claims by China” or other nations ……. Florida: Voters support medical marijuana. The latest QuinnipiacUniversity poll shows that 80% of Sunshine State voters favor Amendment 2, which would legalize the use of medical marijuana. A similar amendment was popular early in 2014, but failed to reach the 60% threshold needed to pass. Recreational use of “pot” was supported by 56% to 41% who opposed it, reports Sunshine State News …….Alabama: Officials subpoenaed in Hubbard trial.
