Florida: Jolly bill gets praise. Washington Post columnist Dana Milbank singled out US Rep. David Jolly (R) for praise for his bill that would bar members of Congress from raising campaign funds. Jolly told Milbank, “We’re here three days a week, and half [our]time is spent raising money.” But he added, “A member’s political survival depends on raising money,” which may explain why the bill has only eight cosponsors ……. Oklahoma: Inhofe backs Trump. In an op-ed in the Tulsa World, US Sen. Jim Inhofe (R) wrote, “The future is now clear – Trump or Hillary.” Noting that the GOP is for “a balanced budget, the right to life, rolling back big government taxes and mandates, and building a strong nation defense,” Inhofe concluded, “Without a Republican in the White House, accomplishing these priorities will be impossible.” ……. South Carolina: Mulvaney wants details. As top aides to Donald Trump and House Speaker Paul Ryan meet this week to iron out issues, US Rep. Mick Mulvaney (R) told CNN he wants to know The Donald’s views on federal spending and debt. “There might be common ground on entitlements based on his statements, because we honestly don’t have enough detail to know.” Mulvaney has previously stated he will not attend the Republican Convention in Cleveland …….
