North Carolina: Anti-wind energy bill proposed. Two state senators have introduced legislation that would place restrictions on wind-power “farms” in the state. State Sen. Bill Cook (R), one of the bill’s sponsors, emailed the News & Observer, “It is obvious that many people (due to view, sound, flicker, etc.) would choose NOT to buy a home where there are industrial wind turbines close by.” ……. Louisiana: Edwards signs medical marijuana bill. Gov. John Bel Edwards (D) this week became the latest Southern governor to sign legislation allowing patients access to medical marijuana, reports WDSU.com. The bill, authored by a Republican state senator, expands the number of diseases marijuana can be used for and expedites the regulatory process concerning the medication.
