Florida: Rubio, Trump make peace. Marco Rubio says he would be “honored” to help former rival Donald Trump win the election in November. “I want to be helpful,” Rubio told CNN; “I don’t want to be harmful, because I don’t want Hillary Clinton to be president.” And Trump, along with members of the Sunshine State GOP establishment, has urged Rubio to run for reelection to the Senate, to help maintain a Republican majority ……. North Carolina: Burr, Ross in close race. A poll released last week by Public Policy Polling (D) showed incumbent US Sen. Richard Burr (R) leading his challenger, former state Rep. Deborah Ross (D), by a narrow 39% to 36% …….Virginia: GOP lawmakers challenge McAuliffe on felon enfranchisement. The leaders of the state Senate and the state House of Representatives have filed a motion with the Virginia Supreme Court contending that Gov. Terry McAuliffe (D) exceeded his authority when he issued an executive order allowing some 206,000 ex-convicts to register and vote. The lawsuit, reports the Washington Post, “presents a complex constitutional question with the urgency of presidential election-year politics.” Stay tuned …….
