Florida: Post praises Jolly. The Washington Post gave a lead-editorial endorsement toUS Rep. David Jolly’s (R) bill that would prohibit members of Congress from personally soliciting campaign contributions, whether or not Congress is in session. While conceding that Jolly’s bill would not solve all of the problems associated with political fundraising, “[T]his is a case in which some change would be better than none,” the Post editorialized ……. Florida: Bishop opts for Trump. Long-time political analyst-and-operative Barney Bishop, in a recent column delineated all the reasons Donald Trump should NOT be elected president and a similar list of Hillary Clinton’s negatives. He ended his column with, “Trump embarrasses me. But Hillary scares me!”……. Virginia: From Brat to Trump? Paul Kane, writing in the Washington Post on the first anniversary of then-House Speaker Eric Cantor’s defeat by David Brat in the Republican primary , quoted US Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY): “Dave Brat’s election was a wake-up call to Washington, DC, that they didn’t answer. And that’s why we have Trump.” …….
