Oklahoma: Cole praises Pence. US Rep. Tom Cole (R), a former member of the House GOP leadership and, according to NPR host Robert Siegel, “a straight shooter by reputation,” Mike Pence “is extremely important” to the Trump campaign. He “brings a lot of unity to the Republican Party and reassurance.” ……. Florida: Rubio likes Tim Kaine, but … “I like Tim, he’s a friend, I respect him,” Marco Rubio told a Jacksonville town hall. He added, “I look forward to continuing to work with him in the Senate, because Hillary is going to lose.” ……. Louisiana: Four and twenty candidates in Senate pie. When qualifying ended last Friday for the Nov. 8 election, 24 candidates had filed for the US Senate seat being vacated by David Vitter (R). Among those filing were GOPers US Reps. Charles Boustany and John Fleming, state Treasurer John Kennedy and ex-KKKer David Duke.
