Florida: Jolly foe stresses support for Trump. Retired Marines General Mark Bircher, who is challenging US Rep. David Jolly (R) in the August 30 Republican primary, is making a major play for Donald Trump’s supporters. “I share his passion for securing our borders, making trade practices fair, strengthening our military, stopping endless wars, and developing an economic policy that will not bankrupt America.,” Bircher said, reported Sunshine State News. Jolly has expressed reservations about Trump. The GOP nominee will face former Gov. Charlie Crist (D) in November ……. Kentucky: Paul in dept; says Trump will win the state. The failed presidential campaign for US Sen. Rand Paul (R) is $300,000 in debt, but Paul says all the creditors, including many complaining small operations, will be paid off in full. Paul also told WDRB News, “I think that Trump’s going to win Kentucky.” ……. Texas: Obit cites campaign for death. An obituary for Elene Meyer Davis, a native of Yoakum, TX who was active in Democratic politics, died of heart failure. Her obituary in the Houston Chronicle noted that “the 2016 presidential campaign” also contributed to her death. (Other folks are just sick.) …….
