Arkansas: Boozman calls Khan a hero. US Sen. John Boozman (R) said that Donald Trump’s comments about the family of Khizr Khan, a Muslim-American killed in Iraq, were “out of line,” but reiterated that he will vote for the GOP nominee. “Captain Khan was a true American hero,” Boozman told Talk Business & Politics, on UALR Public Radio ……. Louisiana: Edwards would change Democrats’ pro-choice policy. Gov. John Bel Edwards (D), noting that “My mother and father raised all eight of their children to be Catholic,” attended a Democrats for Life event at the DNC convention inPhiladelphia. He urged other pro-life Democrats across the country to “seek elected office so that collectively we can change the Democratic Party on this issue,” reports Briebart News ……. Kentucky: Bevin hires attorneys to investigate Beshear administration. Gov. Matt Bevin (R) has hired an Indiana law firm – one that has contributed to both parties – to determine if there was corruption in the administration of Gov. Steve Beshear (D), who preceded Bevin in the governor’s office, reports the Lexington Herald-Leader. In April, Bevin said his aides had found “greed and oftentimes corruption” during the previous eight years and cited the guilty plea of Beshear’s personnel secretary in a kickback scheme related to state employee health insurance …….
