Texas: Bush backs Trump. Not Jeb, but his son, Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush, told a meeting of GOP activists over the weekend that he is supporting Donald Trump for president, reported The Texas Tribune. “From Team Bush, it’s a bitter pill to swallow, but you know what? You get back up and you help the man that won, and you make sure that we stop Hillary Clinton.” ……. Virginia: Rigell to vote Libertarian. US Rep. Scott Rigell (R), who is not seeking reelection this year, said “I’m going to vote for the Libertarian candidate,” reported WAVY-TV. On his Facebook page, Rigell wrote, “Deep shame on any man who would compare ‘sacrifice’ in creating jobs with the profound, unending sacrifice of a Gold Star family… [One] so distanced from a true understanding of sacrifice would be unworthy of the title ‘Mr. President.’ He wouldn’t even be worthy of the common title ‘Mr.’” ……. Tennessee: Kustoff wins congressional nomination. In the 8th District (Shelby County, etc.) Republican Primary last week, former US Atty David Kustoff won his party’s nomination to succeed third-termer US Rep. Stephen Fincher (R), who did not seek reelection. Kustoff, who directed George W. Bush’s Tennessee campaign in 2000, came in first with 27% in a field of 13 candidates.
