Florida: Qpac poll shows a tie. It’s 43% each for Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, according to Quinnipiac survey of likely voters taken July 30 thru August 7, with 7% for Libertarian Gary Johnson and 3% for the Green Party’s Jill Stein. Without Johnson and Stein, Clinton had 46%, Trump 45%. In July, a Quinnipiac poll showed Trump leading in the Sunshine State by 5% ……. South Carolina: Coulter slams Haley. Reacting to Gov. Nikki Haley’s criticism of Donald Trump over the Khan Gold Star family, conservative commentator Ann Coulter said, “Muslim troops accounted for 0.2% of all US troop deaths in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. Southerners accounted for 38% of those killed in Iraq and 47% in Afghanistan… What has South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley ‘sacrificed’ compared to the families of these men?” The State newspaper, however, points out that Haley’s husband, Michael Haley, served in Afghanistan during her tenure ……. Texas: Cruz critics promote McCaul. GOP insiders and money-folks in the Lone Star State are quietly working to persuade US Rep. Michael McCaul (R) to challenge US Sen. Ted Cruz (R) in the 2018 Republican Primary. McCaul hasn’t said yea or nay, so far, reports the Dallas Morning News …….
