Florida: GOP gains registered voters. On Election Day in 2012, Democrats in theSunshine State had 557,544 more registered voters than did the Republicans. Since then, reports Sunshine State News, the GOP has added some 300,000 more voters than the Democrats have, shrinking the Democratic margin to some 259,000 …….Tennessee: Shelby County Democratic Party disbanded. State Democratic Party Chair Mary Mancini has decertified the Shelby County (Memphis, etc.) Democratic Party, contending the group “was not supporting” Democratic candidates in this year’s election. The Memphis party has been in near-stalemate over charges that a former chair embezzled some $25,000 from the party. Meanwhile, the county’s Young Democrats are stepping into the breech, reports the Memphis Daily News …….Virginia: 2017 race crowded. State Sen. Frank Wagner of Virginia Beach became the fourth Republican to enter next year’s governor’s race. He joins early favorite Ed Gillespie, US Rep.
