Florida: Graham making the rounds. Although US Rep. Gwen Graham (D) did not seek reelection in her redistricted pro-GOP district, she is still politically active, reports Sunshine State News, campaigning across the state for Hillary Clinton and US Senate nominee Patrick Murphy (D), as well as promoting African-American turn-out with the “Souls to the Polls” project. She’s already signaled that she may run for governor in 2018 ……. North Carolina: Burr TV spot aimed at black vote flawed. In a television spot aimed at winning a share of the black vote for US Sen. Richard Burr (R), sharp eyes spotted a flaw: The children shown studying in the video were not African-American, but African, reports the Winston-Salem Journal. Burr’s campaign said protests were much ado about nothing ……. South Carolina: Haley calls for spending cuts. In a memo to agency heads, Gov. Nikki Haley (R) asked them to reduce their budgets by 3%, reports the Post & Courier. She said the move is designed to prepare for “tough decisions amid economic downturn or crisis.” …….
