Look for serious repercussions from Hillary Clinton’s health problems at the 9/11 ceremony yesterday, coupled with her reference earlier to half of Donald Trump’s supporters as from “the basket of deplorables.” ……. Virginia: McDonnells prevail. In the wake of a US Supreme Court ruling upholding former Gov. Robert McDonnell’s (R) appeal of a federal corruption conviction, prosecutors have decided not to retry the case against McDonnell and his wife, former Virginia First Lady Maureen McDonnell ……. Louisiana: Officials complain about flood relief. Three Baton Rouge-area mayors and US Rep. Cedric Richmond (D) told a US House Subcommittee that flood relief was delayed by bureaucratic regulations, reports The Advocate. Richmond urged passage of the “FEMA Reform Act.” Gov. John Bel Edwards (D) took a more measured approach, telling the lawmakers, “While I am grateful for the quick response we have received from this flooding, I am under no illusion that the response has been perfect.” …….
