North Carolina: Trump, Clinton tied. The Real Clear Politics (RCP) average of recent polls gives Hillary Clinton a two point lead over Donald Trump in the Tar Heel State. The Elon University Poll, announced yesterday, showed Clinton with a 0.8 point lead – 42% to 41.2%. Elon also showed the governor’s race between Gov. Pat McCrory (R) and Attorney General Roy Cooper (D) tied with 44% each. In the Senate race, US Sen. Richard Burr (R) had 43.5%, former state Rep. Deborah Ross (D) 40% ……. Florida: Edge to Trump. The RCP average of recent polls showed Trump with 45.5% to Clinton’s 44.5% in the Sunshine State, a one-point lead ……. Texas: Voters split on deportation. According to a mid-October poll by the University of Texas/Texas Tribune, 47% of the state’s voters favor deporting undocumented immigrants immediately to 46% who say they should not be.
