North Carolina: Legislature unlikely to resolve governor’s race. Although the Tar Heel legislature has the authority to resolve a disputed election for state officials, House Speaker Tim Moore (R) said yesterday, “It is an absolute last resort for the General Assembly to be involved” in the current undecided governor’s race. Democrat Roy Cooper is 5,000 votes ahead of incumbent Gov. Pat McCrory (R).
