Donald Trump touted Jeff Sessions’ work as Alabama’s Attorney General and as a U.S. Attorney, suggesting the Alabama Senator could be the President-elect’s pick to lead the Justice Department.
“While nothing has been finalized and he is still talking with others as he forms his cabinet, the President-elect has been unbelievably impressed with Senator Sessions and his phenomenal record as Alabama’s Attorney General and U.S. Attorney,” according to a news release from Sessions’ office.
The Alabama Republican, a longtime supporter and surrogate for Trump, has previously been floated as a strong possibility for Secretary of Defense.
