Oklahoma: Pruitt to head Environmental Protection Agency. President-elect Donald Trump is expected to name Sooner State Attorney General Scott Pruitt (R) to head the EPA, reports the Washington Post and other papers. A self-described “leading advocate against the EPA’s activist agenda,” Pruitt is a former chairman of the Republican Attorneys General Association and a former state legislator. He has a long record of challenging EPA regulations in court ……. Texas: Brady optimistic for tax reform. US Rep. Kevin Brady (R), chairman of the House Ways & Means Committee, told The Hill that, with Trump as president, Congress has an opportunity to pass the first major tax reform in 30 years. “I’m so excited I can’t sleep,” Brady said, adding that the public is “sick of this tax code so complex they know its hurting America.” ……. Florida: Rubio boosts Ingoglia’s reelection. In the face of a spirited campaign for chairman of the Republican Party of Florida, US Sen. Marco Rubio yesterday endorsed incumbent Blaise Ingoglia. Ingoglia is being challenged by Christian Ziegler, who says the current state chairman’s numerous endorsements don’t scare him. “I’m going grassroots,” Ziegler told Sunshine State News. Ingoglia was elected in 2015, defeating a candidate supported by Gov. Rick Scott (R) …….
