When President-elect Donald Trump and First-Lady-to-be Melania Trump entered the Bethesda-by-the-Sea Episcopal Church in Palm Beach on Christmas Eve, they were greeted by cheers, reported Fox News. It was the same church where the couple were married in 2005 ……. South Carolina: Graham would defund UN. In the wake of the United Nations’ condemnation of Israel’s West Bank settlements, US Sen. Lindsey Graham (R) proposed withdrawing US funding from the UN, which accounts for 22% of its budget. The US abstained from its usual veto in the Security Council, thus acquiescing in the vote. Graham said this nation should stand by “the only true democracy in the Middle East, Israel.” ……. North Carolina: McCrory praised. Veteran political journalist Rob Christensen, in his News & Observer column, praised outgoing Gov. Pat McCrory for seven “notable things.” The top three: McCrory improved and renovated deteriorating state-owned buildings; led a public relations attack on teenage drinking; successfully pushed a $2 billion bond issue, with two-thirds of the money going to universities and community colleges …….
