North Carolina: Graham to pray at inauguration. The Rev. Franklin Graham, a well-known evangelist from Montreat, NC, and the son of Billy Graham, 98, probably the best-known evangelical preacher of the second half of the 20th Century, will be among the religious figures participating in Donald Trump’s inauguration as president of theUnited States on Jan. 20. Five others will also take part – a Roman Catholic cardinal, black and Hispanic Protestant officials, and a rabbi. In addition, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir will sing ……. Arkansas: Cotton urges quick action on immigration. Contending that current immigration policy favors wealthy employers who want cheap labor, US Sen. Tom Cotton (R) wrote in the New York Times, “We now need an immigration policy that focuses less on the most powerful and more on everyone else.” ……. Texas: Miller to visit with Trump. Sid Miller, the Texas Agriculture Commissioner, is visiting Trump today at Mar-A-Lago, the president-elect’s Palm Beach resort, amid reports that Miller is being considered for US Secretary of Agriculture. Two other Texans are said to be in the running for the same post, reports the Austin American-Statesman: Elsa Murano, former president of Texas A&MUniversity; and Susan Combs, a former agriculture commissioner and comptroller in the Lone Star State …….
