Tennessee: Corker announces vote on Haley. US Sen. Bob Corker (R), chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, announced that the committee will vote today on the nomination of Gov. Nikki Haley (R-SC) to be the US ambassador to the United Nations. After US Sens. John McCain, Lindsey Graham and Marco Rubio – all Republicans who had expressed doubts about Rex Tillerson as the next secretary of state – announced they would vote for Tillerson, it appeared that the committee and the Senate would also approve his nomination ……. Texas: Supreme Court rejects appeal on voter ID law. The US Supreme Court has rejected the appeal of the state of Texas, who sought to overturn a lower federal court ruling that its voter ID law was discriminatory and violated the Voting Rights Act.
