Florida: Nelson queries Chao on travel ban. US Sen. Bill Nelson, the ranking Democrat on the Senate Commerce Committee, sent a letter to Secretary of Transportation-designate nominee Elaine Chao yesterday containing five questions about President Trump’s Executive Order, “Protecting the Nation from Foreign Terrorist Entry into theUnited States.” The first read, “Do you agree with the administration’s travel ban? Do you believe that it is being implemented clearly and fairly?” Secretary Chao is expected to come before the Senate today for confirmation to her new post ……. Tennessee: Corker praises Trump on deregulation. US Sen. Bob Corker praised President Trump’s Executive Order restricting “burdensome federal regulations.” In a statement, Corker said, “I applaud President Trump for following through on his promise to rein in federal bureaucrats and look forward to working with the administration on additional ways to unleash the American economy and create opportunities for hardworking Tennesseans.” …….  DCCC: Democrats target GOP districts. The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has designated a number of districts across the country that it wants to switch from Red (R) to Blue (D) in 2018. Among them,Florida’s 10th, 13th, 18th and 26th districts; Texas’ 23rd District and Virginia’s 10th. The list may be expanded in the future …….
