Texas: Cornyn defends McConnell on Warren. US Sen. John Cornyn (R) agreed with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) for cutting off remarks by US Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) on the Senate floor. “This is not supposed to be a mud wrestling ring or a food fight,” Cornyn said, reported the Houston Chronicle. Cornyn contended that “Senator Warren tried to hide behind other people’s words by basically reading their words and suggesting it was them speaking and not her.” ……. South Carolina: Scott called “Uncle Tom” for supporting Sessions. Criticizing the lack of tolerance by “the liberal left,” US Sen. Tim Scott (R) read a number of tweets he received for endorsing Jeff Sessions for attorney general, reports Realclearpolitics.com. Among them, “disgrace to the black race,” “a House Negro,” “an Uncle Tom,” etc., etc. “I left out all the ones that use the n-word,” Scott said ……. Virginia: Fiorina to challenge Kaine? “I’m certainly looking at that opportunity,” former presidential candidate Carly Fiorina told a Portsmouth radio show about running for the US Senate seat held by US Sen.
