Louisiana: Edwards lays groundwork for special session.  Gov. John Bel Edwards (D) said Wednesday that unless the legislature completes action on three major spending bills by June 8, he will call a special session to deal with the measures, reports Gambit. The special session could last until June 19 ……. Oklahoma: Cornett running for governor. Oklahoma City Mayor Mick Cornett (R), who said in February that he would not seek reelection, announced Wednesday on social media that he will run for governor next year. Cornett will be joining State Auditor and Inspector Gary Jones, Lt. Gov. Todd Lamb and Tulsa attorney Gary Richardson in the 2018 Republican Primary ……. Arkansas: US News focuses on Cotton.
