Florida: Yoho would have used Russian intel. When asked yesterday if it was appropriate for the Trump campaign to use opposition research provided by a Russian lawyer, US Rep. Ted Yoho (R) told CNN, “I probably would have done the same thing. I mean, it’s opposition research and you know, anybody that’s been in an election, you’re always looking to get the upper hand.” Yoho also noted that the Russian attorney was not a government official, reports The Hill ……. Oklahoma: Fallon asks for disaster aid. Gov. Mary Fallin (R) has asked the federal government to make a disaster declaration for the storms, including tornados and floods, that hit 16 counties. If the declaration is approved, federal funds will be released to help pay for cleanup, damage repair and infrastructure costs. During a five day period in May, some 38 storms hit the state ……. Texas: Patrick raised $4 million last month. Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick (R), who holds a powerful post in Lone Star State government, raised $4 million in June, bringing his cash-on-hand to $17 million, reports Austin’s American-Statesman. The paper attributed his fundraising success to his espousal of issues important to his conservative base, including restricting restroom use for transgenders and limiting property tax increases.
