Around the South for July 31st: AL, TX, & FL

Alabama: Brooks blasts Senate.  Rep. Mo Brooks, a member of the Conservative House Freedom Caucus, blasted the U.S. Senate over the weekend for their failure to repeal Obamacare.  “It was an abject failure of the United States Senate to do what America needs doing,” he told reporters.  Texas: Congressional delegation united on Russia sanctions.  Every member of Texas’ congressional delegation, on both sides of the aisle, voted last week in favor of legislation that will impose new sanctions on Russia in response to cyber-attacks during the 2016 elections.  Florida: Wasserman-Schultz back in the headlines.  More bad press for congresswoman and former head of the DNC Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, who had to fire a technology aide who was caught trying to flee the country to evade felony bank-fraud charges.
