Tennessee: Corker questions Trump’s stability. CNN reports that US Sen. Bob Corker, chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and one of the upper chamber’s most influential Republicans, today told reporters in Chattanooga that “The President has not yet been able to demonstrate the stability nor some of the competence that he needs to be successful… Helping inspire divisions because it generates support from your political base is not a formula for causing our nation to advance, our nation to overcome the many issues we have to deal with right now.” ……. South Carolina: Trump hits back at Graham. “Publicity seeking Lindsey Graham falsely stated that I said there is a moral equivalency between the KKK, neo-Nazis & white supremacists,” Trump tweeted. He added, “He just can’t forget his election trouncing.” Graham had said earlier that “because of the manner in which you have handled the Charlottesvilletragedy, you are now receiving praise from some of the most racist and hate-filled individuals and groups in our country. For the sake of our nation – as our President – please fix this.” …….Texas: Legislature fails to pass bathroom bill. The special session of the Texas legislature called by Gov. Greg Abbott (R), in large part to pass a bill regulating public school students’ use of school bathrooms, adjourned this week without passing such a measure, reports the Washington Post. The state Senate had passed such a bill, but failed to win majority support in the House …….
