Louisiana: Cassidy touts healthcare bill. US Sen. Bill Cassidy (R), who is a physician, told the Baton Rouge Press Club that the healthcare bill he is sponsoring, along with US Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and US Sen. Dean Heller (R-NV), is “about the only game left in town” for replacing Obamacare, reports The Advocate. His proposal would provide bloc grants for Medicaid, the cost of which is “a huge problem,” he said ……. Kentucky: Paul opposes Trump Afghan plan. US Sen. Rand Paul (R), in an op/ed in The Hill, called President Trump’s plan to add more troops to Afghanistan “a terrible idea… He knows this war is over, and he – unlike the last two presidents – should have the guts to end it for real, on his watch.” ……. Tennessee: Haslam sells Knoxville home. Gov. Bill Haslam (R) and his wife Crissy have sold their home in Knoxville, where they spend many weekends, for $2,090,000, reports the News Sentinel. When his term as governor ends in January, 2019, they will move into the governor’s father’s home, where Haslam lived for a time in his youth …….
