Tennessee: Corker ready to cooperate on North Korea. After speaking with General Kelly in the White House on Friday, US Sen. Bob Corker (R), chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee said in a statement Friday, “We stand ready to work with the administration to support a comprehensive strategy that not only places an emphasis on deterrence but also empowers our allies and partners in the region, who must do far more to confront the threat.” ……. Florida: Scott supports DACA. Gov. Rick Scott (R) said in a statement that the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) should not be ended. “These kids must be allowed to pursue the American Dream, and Congress must act on this immediately… I do not favor punishing children for the actions of their parents,” reported Sunshine State News ……. Virginia: Environmentalists give big money to Northam. The Virginia League of Conservation Voters is donating $700,000 to the campaign of Democratic gubernatorial nominee Ralph Northam and in addition will spend $1.1 million on field operations to help the Democrats in this fall’s election. Although the group doesn’t like Northam’s waffling on whether he opposes two natural gas pipelines that would cross Virginia, his opponent, Republican Ed Gillespie, favors the pipelines, clearly opposing the group’s views on the issue, reports the Washington Post …….
