JJ: Trump nominates more judges. President Trump announced yesterday that he had appointed nine judges to federal courts, especially in the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals. Three with notable conservative credentials, reports The Hill, were Texas Supreme Court Justice Don Willett, Dallas attorney James Ho and Louisiana attorney Kyle Duncan ……. Louisiana: Scalise back on the House floor. House Majority Whip Steve Scalise received a standing ovation yesterday when he returned to the House on crutches. He credited Capitol Police for saving his life and said, “You have no idea how great this feels to be back here at work in the people’s house,” reports Roll Call …….Texas: Green to introduce impeachment articles. “Wouldn’t you love to see one of these NFL owners,” said the President in Alabama last Friday, “when somebody disrespects our flag, to say ‘Get that son of bitch off the field right now?” Spurred by his reaction to the President’s remark, US Rep. Al Green (D), long a critic of Trump, says he plans to introduce articles of impeachment next week, referring to the presidential comment as “crass, rude, crude and unrefined,” reports the Washington Post …….
