Virginia: Trump fans rally for Gillespie. “Bikers for Trump” rallied for Ed Gillespie Sunday in Virginia Beach, though the candidate himself was 200 miles away in Arlington. Two members of the GOP ticket were there, however, Jill Vogel for lieutenant governor and John Adams for attorney general. Corey Stewart, fiery social conservative who came close to defeating Gillespie in the primary, urged his audience to “fight the criminals, communists, crack heads and the weirdos – those are your Democrats,” reported the Washington Post ……. Mississippi: Trump hotel “about money.” Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, the president’s sons, are investing in the building of The Scion Hotel in the Mississippi Delta to capitalize on the region’s history as a center for the blues, reports Y’all Politics. US Rep. Bennie Thompson (D), who represents the Delta in congress, said the project “shows he really doesn’t have a conscience. It’s about money.” Ellis Turnage, a back attorney and a Democrat, said acceptance of the hotel depends on whether it boosts the local economy …….Oklahoma: Fallin warns state agencies to make more cuts. After lawmakers agreed on a budget deal, but then failed to get it passed, Gov. Mary Fallin (R) warned state agencies to prepare for additional cuts, reported KFOR-TV. Commenting on the failure of legislative leaders to pass a fix for the $215 million deficit, Fallin said “Oklahomans deserve better.” …….
