Virginia: GOP wins drawing, control of House. The name of Del. David Yancey (R) was drawn from a ceramic bowl, giving him the victory in a race with Shelly Simonds (D), which according to election officials, had ended in a tie. Yancey’s victory gave the Republicans a 51-49 majority in the House of Delegates, maintaining the GOP’s 18-year control of the lower chamber ……. Texas: Imam apologizes for “kill the Jews” sermon.  Houston Imam Raed Saleh Al-Rousan apologized for a sermon last month in which he quoted the Prophet Muhammad’s writing that on Judgment day, “The Muslims will kill the Jews.” The sermon was in response to President Trump’s moving the US Embassy to Jerusalem ……. Alabama: Bentley “walked away.” Former Gov. Robert Bentley (R) said last week that he was told he would be charged with a felony. “If you have a felony, you lose your medical license,” he said, reported The Decatur Daily, “So, I agreed to (two misdemeanors) and walked away.” …….
